  1. Choose the part you want me to research. It doesn’t have to be the whole tree unless you want me to. Choose the most pressing obstacle and start there.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you research other countries besides Scandinavian ones?

    Yes! Although our specialty is American, Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish, we are familiar with genealogy for other countries. Or depending on what you need, we can also refer you to other colleagues that are more of an expert in that area.

  • Do you get paid by the hour or by the project?

    Both. It depends on the project. If it’s a huge project involving more than one generation and family, then we would set the price by project. If it’s a small project, then it would be by the hour.

  • Why would I choose you when I can find what I need on the Internet for free?

    You can find lots of amazing family history information on the internet for free. In fact, I recommend you looking online first for all of the available resources out there for you ancestor. However, it can be time consuming looking for records all over the Internet. They aren’t conveniently in one place. With professionals, we have access to paid sites, other colleagues, more obscure websites, historical societies, foreign records/languages, etc. that may lead to better results in a shorter amount of time.

  • Do you take check, card, or cash?

    Yes, all forms of payment are acceptable. Although, if a check bounces or there’s any outstanding sum, then we reserve the right to charge 1.5% interest per day until it’s paid.

  • What is your experience with family history?

    I have a degree in Family History Research from BYU-Idaho that includes a specialty in Scandinavian records. I’m a member of the Association for Professional Genealogists. I also have over 15 years experience with my own personal family history with American and Scandinavian ancestors.

  • What do I get when our project is done?

    I provide a full report complete with sourced citations and footnotes either in a PDF form or printed. I give you all photos, copies of original records, the full report, and any other documents I find in a digital package or printed out and mailed to you. You may also customize what you want from the project such as a fan chart, everything uploaded to Family Search or Ancestry, etc.
