Description
Have you ever found yourself writing genealogy research notes on any scrap piece of paper lying around? Or how about having multiple notebooks for different ancestors? How about wanting to go back and find that one piece of information about that ancestor and not finding it because you don’t know where you put it?
This research log keeps all of your genealogy research in one place for each ancestor. You focus on one ancestor or ancestral couple at a time and you can write as much or as little as you need about them. It has sections for writing your objective, your research date, your source citations, and all of your notes from that source. You can also copy and paste the URL directly onto your log so you can easily find that genealogy website again.
This is a workable PDF so you can type directly on it or you can print it out and use it that way. To use it on your computer, you download it as a master copy, then when starting a new research project, make a copy of it for each new ancestor that you’re working with. Save that specific copy to your ancestor’s folder. Now you have a research log to find all of your research for that ancestor.
You’ll find that you’ll be more focused once you start using this tool. You’ll see gaps in your research that you can fill in. You’ll see life patterns, overlaps in timelines, and other details you would’ve otherwise missed. You can easily review previous research to get you caught up for your current project. Plus it’s fun to use! So check it out!
